Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk M. Kumar said the suspects, aged 18 to 49, were arrested under Ops Mega TikTok 2026, conducted from Oct 10-12.

He said the operation to monitor the activities of associations declared illegal by the government was carried out in collaboration with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC).

Kumar said all the suspects have been remanded under Section 117 of the Criminal Procedure Code to determine their roles in the group and possible involvement in other criminal activities.

The case is being investigated under Sections 47 and 43 of the Societies Act 1966 for offences related to possession of propaganda materials and membership in unlawful organisations, as well as under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 regarding the foreign suspect.

The case is also investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities or services

Meanwhile, he warned that police would take firm and uncompromising action against those who deliberately shared video recordings that could cause public concern.

He also advised the public to channel information on suspected organised criminal activities to the police via official channels or at the nearest police station.
