LAHAD DATU: Three local men and a foreigner were arrested over the alleged gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in a village in Jalan Segama, here.
District Police Chief ACP Dzulbaharin said the incident occurred about 2am on May 9.
It is believed that the victim was sleeping inside a room when the suspects entered the room and forced her to have sex with them in turns.
The victim lodged a report after her family became aware of the incident.
Investigation is ongoing under Section 375B of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of between eight and 30 years, and whipping, on conviction.
All the suspects were remanded for further investigation.
Dzulbaharin advised parents and families to always monitor their children’s social interactions and friends to prevent their involvement in inappropriate associations and unhealthy social activities.
