Understanding the Detention of Two Men for Drug Possession Yesterday, the police made significant progress in combating drug trafficking with the detention of two men in separate operations. The arrests were made as part of a special operation called Ops Tapis conducted by the narcotics criminal investigation team in the district, led by Superintendent Mohd Haki Hasbullah. During the first operation, a man was apprehended in a raid at Batu 11.

The authorities executed the raid at around 6 pm and discovered 200 methamphetamine pills and 184 grams of syabu in a house. Subsequently, the suspect was arrested. The total street value of the confiscated drugs amounted to approximately RM38,600. According to Mohd Haki, the suspect, a 46-year-old individual, had tested positive for drugs and had three previous records, indicating a history of involvement in illicit activities. In the second operation, another suspect was arrested at Batu Gajah around 6:45 pm. The man, who was riding a motorcycle, was stopped by the police for further investigation. Upon inspection, the authorities found a staggering 36,000 methamphetamine pills in his possession.

The weight of these pills was approximately 4.48 kg, with an estimated value of around RM360,000. Similarly, this suspect had four previous records and tested positive in a urine test, indicating a concerning pattern of drug-related offenses. Both detainees are local individuals and are currently being held for further legal action. The police are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into these cases to gather the necessary evidence and build a strong prosecution. These successful operations represent a significant blow to the drug trafficking network, as the confiscated drugs were valued at nearly RM400,000 collectively.

The actions of the Tanah Merah police, under the leadership of Superintendent Mohd Haki Hasbullah, demonstrate their dedication to preserving public safety and combating the proliferation of illegal substances in the community. The apprehension of individuals involved in drug-related activities serves as a deterrent to others and sends a clear message that such actions will not be tolerated. The police are proactive in protecting the well-being of the community and will continue to take stringent measures to curb the drug trade.
