KUALA LUMPUR - Police have arrested two teenagers after a video showing them riding ‘basikal lajak’ (illegally modified bicycles) dangerously and beating a red light at the Putra Heights traffic junction in Subang Jaya went viral on social media.

Subang Jaya district police chief, Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the boys were picked up in Bukit Lanchong, Shah Alam, yesterday following a report lodged at 5.13pm over the viral TikTok clip.

“Initial investigations revealed the incident occurred on Dec 4 at about 5.55pm when both teenagers were riding from Persiaran Putra Perdana towards Kampung Tengah.

“They were seen riding recklessly, running the red light and nearly colliding with a car that was moving on a green light,” he said in a statement today.

The case is being investigated under Section 54(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Police urged anyone with information to contact Insp Mohd Azizul Hakim Roslan at 011‑28914495 to assist investigations. - December 7, 2025
