- On Wednesday night, two officers were hospitalised after one was struck with a rock and another was seriously bitten, breaking the skin, while intervening in a group trying to access a residential property.
- The unrest, which also saw property damage on Tuesday night including smashed windows and attempted break-ins, is linked to fears that properties are being used to house asylum seekers.
- Brian Thompson, 68, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and released on bail, while another man remains in custody.
- Local MP Terry Jermy condemned the 'ugly scenes' and 'mob rule', stating that such behaviour undermines legitimate concerns about Home Office plans to house asylum seekers at RAF Barnham.
