A police officer got caught in the middle of a tornado as it hit an elementary school in Wisconsin.
Dashcam footage shared by Fox Crossing Police Department shows the officer’s view as he sat inside the patrol car as winds of up to 140mph battered the school, which suffered “extensive damage”.
“All of a sudden debris just started flying everywhere, trees. And there were pieces of siding, insulation that were coming in all different directions,” Boehlen told Fox 11.
The EF3 tornado cut through the towns of Appleton, Menasha, Neenah, and Fox Crossing last week. Thirty-one people were injured and a total of 60 people were taken to local hospitals for evaluation. There were no serious injuries.
