  • Police Constable Stanley Kennett was dismissed without notice for gross misconduct after operating a coffee shop, TheCoffeeCycle, while suspended from duty and receiving full pay.
  • PC Kennett, 31, had his application for the business interest denied in April 2024 but continued to run the coffee shop in Storrington, West Sussex, from September last year.
  • He was listed as a director of Coffee Cycle Catering Company Ltd from April last year and actively promoted the "sophisticated operation" on social media.
  • Commander Andy Brittain ruled that Kennett "flatly contravened an order and instruction" and his actions risked bringing the Metropolitan Police Service into disrepute.
  • The tribunal concluded that running a business for financial gain while suspended on full pay was unacceptable, leading to his dismissal and placement on the College of Policing’s barred list.
