POLICE in Kuala Lumpur are investigating a case of suspected child neglect after a three-month-old baby boy was found to have suffered a fracture to his left thigh while under the care of a babysitter in Taman Koperasi Polis.
Kuala Lumpur Police Chief Datuk Fadil Marsus said a police report was lodged at 2.38 pm on Jan 9 following medical findings related to the infant’s injuries.
“The baby experienced swelling on the left thigh after being sent to the babysitter’s house,” he said in a statement on Wednesday.
He added that the infant cried continuously before his parents took him to Hospital Ampang for further examination. Medical checks later confirmed that the baby had sustained a fracture to his left thigh, prompting the attending doctor to file a police report.
“This case is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001,” Fadil said.
He added that further investigations are ongoing to determine the actual cause of the injuries suffered by the baby. - January 14, 2026
