PETALING JAYA: Muhyiddin Yassin has been summoned by the police to give a statement on Monday over his remarks on voting for the Pakatan Harapan candidate at a campaign rally last week.

In his speech in Johor Bahru last Saturday, the Perikatan Nasional chairman declared that it would be “haram” to vote for Amanah’s Suhaizan Kaiat in the Pulai by-election this Saturday.

Bukit Aman criminal investigation department director Shuhaily Zain said Muhyiddin’s statement is expected to be taken at around 9.30am on Sept 11, Utusan Malaysia reported.

The by-elections for the Pulai parliamentary and Simpang Jeram state seats are being held following the death of its incumbent, Salahuddin Ayub, on July 23.
