POLICE in Kedah have recovered a ‘rambo’ knife believed to have been used in the stabbing of a woman whose throat was pierced during a violent attack outside a restaurant in Titi Gajah, Kepala Batas, on Sunday night.

Kedah police chief Datuk Adzli Abu Shah said the weapon, measuring about six inches in length, was discovered on Monday approximately 200 metres from the scene of the incident.

He said the knife was located in a paddy field area after police were led there by the suspect.

“The discovery of the weapon marks a positive development in the investigation into the case.

“So far, we have been informed that the victim has completed surgery and is now in stable condition.

“The victim is still suffering trauma from the injuries and remains weak, but stable,” he said.

Police said the woman sustained severe injuries after the knife penetrated her neck from left to right during the attack.

The incident occurred at around 9.19pm on Sunday in front of a restaurant along Jalan Titi Gajah in Kepala Batas.

The 35-year-old victim was allegedly attacked by a man known to her, according to earlier reports. The case is being investigated under Section 326 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt with a weapon.

The 32-year-old suspect was arrested more than four hours after the incident while allegedly hiding in the vicinity of a mosque in Taman Uda following an attempted escape. - May 20, 2026
