
Kota Kinabalu: A police report has been lodged by Special Officer to the Chief Minister Mazlan@Joehari Manan against Albert Tei for alleged defamatory and seditious statements he made during a media conference outside the High Court, here, on Monday.
The report was lodged at the Kota Kinabalu District Police Headquarters, Tuesday.
“Albert made statements containing malicious, false and insulting elements against the Sabah Chief Minister, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and the Attorney General’s Chambers during the media conference,”

“He openly made accusations and warnings to the public that should anything happen to him, including kidnapping, murder or disappearance, the Chief Minister and several other individuals should be held accountable.
“These are extremely serious criminal accusations and seditious in nature against the Chief Minister,” he said.
Mazlan said given Albert’s ongoing court case involving two Sabah assemblymen, he (Albert) should not have made statements through the media that could create negative perceptions and contain defamatory and false elements that could harm various parties, including the Chief Minister, MACC and Attorney General’s Chambers.
“Albert’s actions could constitute contempt of court (subjudice) as the matter is currently before the courts,” he said.
He said the report was lodged to enable police to take appropriate legal enforcement action against Albert.
