  • Police conducted a week-long crackdown on drug gangs across the UK, resulting in over 2,000 arrests, with nearly 10 per cent of those detained being children as young as 14.
  • The operation successfully closed 335 “drug lines” and led to the seizure of more than £1.5 million in cash and approximately 200kg of Class A substances.
  • Officers recovered an “unusual” haul of items, including a gold bar, a gold suitcase, gold teeth, nearly 400 bladed weapons and 121 firearms.
  • Commander Paul Brogden, national county lines and gangs lead, highlighted that social media platforms like Snapchat are increasingly used to entice vulnerable children into drug dealing.
  • Brogden noted that county lines operations are becoming more localised, moving into rural areas, and are now featuring new drug types such as doctored vapes and cannabis edibles.
