GEORGE TOWN: A police sergeant was found dead with several gunshot wounds behind the Bayan Lepas police station near here yesterday.
Southwest police chief Kamarul Rizal Jenal said police received a report on the discovery of a man’s body at 3.30pm.
“The policeman was found dead with gunshot wounds to the neck, chest and head. Police also found a pistol with him,” he said in a statement tonight.
He said the victim was attached to the station, and the case was being investigated.
He also advised the public not to speculate over the incident.
