PENAMPANG: Police have confirmed receiving a report on an act of mischief involving damaged cables in a village here, following viral videos shared on social media early this morning.

Penampang police chief Supt Sammy Newton said the footage, posted in a community Facebook group, shows an individual pulling what appears to be severed cables.

Investigations are ongoing under Section 431A of the Penal Code, which provides for a jail term of up to two years, a fine, or both.
