
POLICE are actively searching for two female suspects believed to be involved in the theft of a parcel in a residential area in Seri Alam, Masai, in Johor last Friday.
Seri Alam District Police Chief Superintendent Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said authorities became aware of the case after a one-minute and 31-second video was uploaded to the Facebook page “Kaki Bisness Viral”, showing an individual confronting, two unidentified women suspected of stealing a parcel at 3.49pm.
“A report was lodged by a 44-year-old man regarding the incident, and police are currently working to trace the delivery company, the parcel’s owner, and the suspects involved,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 379 of the Penal Code for theft, which carries a penalty of up to seven years’ imprisonment or a fine, or both.
Additionally, Mohd Sohaimi said the case is also being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 for improper use of network facilities, an offence punishable by up to one year in jail or a fine of up to RM50,000, or both.
