A ROYAL Malaysia Police (PDRM) vehicle believed to be carrying General Operations Force (PGA) officers entered former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s Langgak Duta residence in Kuala Lumpur today, amid continued uncertainty over the start of his house detention.
The Proton X70 sport utility vehicle was seen entering the front gate of the residence, which has been identified as the location where Najib could serve the remainder of his sentence under house detention.
The development drew continued media attention to the residence after Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim granted Najib conditional house detention on Friday.
As of 3pm today, several media personnel were still gathered outside the property.
Meanwhile, Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said Najib’s transition to home confinement entered its fifth day on Tuesday with no movement out of Kajang Prison, as official sources confirm that the mandatory RM50 million court fine remains unpaid.
Mohd Dusuki confirmed today that no financial settlement regarding the RM50 million penalty—a strict prerequisite under the conditional royal pardon—has been remitted to date.
“As of now, there are no new developments regarding the fine payment,” Mohd Dusuki stated. He added that the Malaysian Prisons Department is expected to release specialised Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) governing the execution of Najib's house arrest, outlining explicit parameters on visitation rights, security protocols, and movement monitoring.
Najib, 73, has been incarcerated at Kajang Prison since 23 August 2022 following his conviction for the misappropriation of SRC International Sdn Bhd funds, while separate proceedings involving 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) remain ongoing.
Under the conditional pardon granted by His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, during the 64th Federal Territories Pardons Board meeting, the former Pekan MP was permitted to serve the remainder of his sentence under house arrest until 23 August 2028, strictly contingent upon full administrative and financial compliance.
The entry of the PDRM vehicle comes as preparations at the residence are being closely watched, although there has been no indication that Najib has been transferred from Kajang Prison. - September 22, 2026
