
A POLICE constable died after the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a car driven by a man believed to be drunk on Jalan Temiang near Sekolah Kebangsaan Temiang, Seremban, early this morning.
Seremban District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Hatta Che Din, said in the incident at 1.01am, the 23-year-old victim from Jalan Campbell Police Station suffered serious head injuries before being confirmed dead while receiving treatment at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital (HTJ) Emergency Zone, about an hour later.
“Initial investigations found that the victim was riding a Honda EX5 motorcycle from Seremban heading towards Temiang before being hit by a Perodua Bezza driven by a 26-year-old man who lost control and entered the opposite lane,” he said in a statement, today.
Commenting further, he said the driver of the car suffered minor injuries and was suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol.
Following this, the man involved was remanded for six days starting today to assist in the investigation.
