Former IAS officer and legislator Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal on Friday expressed serious concern over rising unemployment in the country and Punjab, alleging that both the BJP-led Central Government and the AAP in Punjab have completely failed to provide employment opportunities to the youth. He said the emergence of the term “Cockroach Janata Party” on social media reflects the growing frustration among unemployed youth.

Dhaliwal said educated youth are being forced to wander in search of jobs while governments continue to function without any concrete employment policy. He termed the situation a clear indication of the failure of both the political leadership and the administrative system, warning that if the unemployment crisis is not addressed in time, the country could face more serious social and economic consequences in the coming years.

According to him, lakhs of young people possess educational degrees but remain unemployed, while governments focus more on advertisements and statistics than on genuine employment generation. Demanding immediate corrective measures, Dhaliwal urged both the Centre and the state government to show seriousness towards the future of the youth by ensuring transparent recruitment processes, promoting industries, and implementing skill-based employment policies.
