
Leaders from both the government and opposition have expressed their heartfelt condolences following the death of Sungai Bakap assemblyman Nor Zamri Latiff, who passed away this afternoon at Seberang Jaya Hospital (HSJ).
Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, who also leads Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah), conveyed his sympathies. “May his soul be blessed and placed among the faithful and the righteous. My condolences to the entire family of the late Nor Zamri,” he stated.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek also shared her sorrow over Nor Zamri’s demise. She wrote, “My condolences to the entire family of the deceased on his passing. May they be given strength in facing this loss.”
PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang mourned the loss of his party member, expressing, “I convey my condolences to the family of YB Nor Zamri Latiff, Sungai Bakap assemblyman who passed away this morning in the ICU of HSJ, Penang. May Allah shower His mercy on the deceased, accept his good deeds, forgive all his sins, and place him among the righteous.”
MCA president Datuk Wee Ka Siong lamented the significant loss to the Sungai Bakap community. He remarked, “His contributions and services to the community will always be remembered. May his soul be blessed.”
Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican, Umno Supreme Council Member and Bertam assemblyman remembered Nor Zamri as a respected friend and a leader known for his calm and patient demeanor. He expressed, “My condolences to the family, relatives, and friends of the late Nor Zamri. Let us all pray to the Almighty for them. May the late Nor Zamri rest in peace in paradise and be placed among the righteous believers, always in the embrace of Allah’s forgiveness.”
Nor Zamri Latiff passed away at 1.38 pm while undergoing treatment for abdominal inflammation at HSJ, where he had been admitted since the start of the month. His passing marks a profound loss for his family and the broader community. He is survived by his wife, Musalmah Yusop, and their six children.
