Kota Kinabalu: An application has been submitted by the Higher Education Ministry to address issues pertaining to the proposed construction of Kota Belud Polytechnic to be included in Budget 2025.
Its Deputy Minister Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said the proposal by the Government, particularly the Ministry, aims to address the “accommodation issue” or Sabahans eager to pursue studies, especially those from the northern part of the State.
“We have submitted the application and hope the Government will consider solving the land issue in the budget for next year.
“We will also probably include the construction (plan) as part of the 13th Malaysian Plan (RMK13) as it is vital to establish another polytechnic in the northern side of Sabah as the younger generation from the B40 category require proper training to provide them with the necessary skills to uplift their livelihood (in the future),” he said after officiating the 28th Polytechnic Kota Kinabalu Convocation, here, Saturday.
