  • The Grammy-nominated US singer, whose real name is Shane Michael Boose, paused his show to alert security, saying: “This is the most poorly managed venue I’ve ever played at in my life.”
  • Sombr said that safety should come first, though he did not comment further on the incident after the show.
  • Brixton Academy previously faced a licence suspension and implemented 77 new safety conditions following a fatal crowd crush in December 2022.
  • The venue, owned by Academy Music Group, reopened in April 2024, expressing commitment to preventing future tragedies.
