Kota Kinabalu: The Ports and Harbours Department (JPDS) held a dialogue session with runners, boat owners and representatives of boat companies led by former Kota Kinabalu MP Datuk Hiew King Cheu, who is also the spokesperson for the People’s Action Group Justice for Sabah (JFS) at its office in Wisma Perindustrian, here.

The dialogue was focused on the recent directive issued by JPDS to disallow the runners and all appointed representatives of boat owners to apply for new or renewing boat/vessels licenses under the JPDS.

This has given rise to inconveniences and grievances among boat operators which covers tourism trade, fishing industries, transportation and passengers ferrying, among others.
