Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) is making significant strides in fortifying Sandakan's electricity generation capacity with the near completion of a new mini power station. The SESB senior general manager (Asset Management), Idris Mohd Noor, shared that the project, situated at the Mowtas Main Distribution Substation (PPU), is anticipated to wrap up by the end of the coming month. This power station is designed to generate a robust 10 megawatts (MW) of electricity.
In addition to the Mowtas project, SESB is actively progressing on two other crucial endeavors – the Labuk Power Station and the Seguntor Main Distribution Substation (PPU). Both of these ventures, contributing 30 MW and 10 MW respectively, are on track for completion by the end of the current month. Idris highlighted that these initiatives directly target enhancing the energy landscape in the Sandakan district, ultimately benefitting end-users.
The Labuk Power Station and Seguntor Main Distribution Substation (PPU), combined with the Mowtas project, constitute a significant stride in boosting Sandakan's electricity capacity.
