THE Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) has deployed two high-capacity Higer buses at the Port of Banago to provide a specialized 1.3-kilometer shuttle service between the terminal and docking areas for the convenience of passengers.

The PPA Head Office officially turned over two Higer buses to the Port Management Office Negros Occidental Bacolod/Banago/Bredco (PMO-NBB) on March 18, 2026. The turnover was led by the PPA Head Office as part of an initiative to strengthen transport services at the Port of Banago.

The buses will function as a shuttle service for passengers traveling between the Passenger Terminal Building and the vessel docking area. This route covers a distance of 1.3 kilometers within the port complex.

The service is specifically intended for the Banago Port-Dumangas Port route. By providing dedicated transportation, the PPA aims to facilitate the movement of commuters within the facility.

Each bus has a seating capacity of 30 passengers and can accommodate up to 50 standing individuals. The units are designed to handle high-volume passenger transfers during vessel arrivals and departures.

The vehicles are equipped with CCTV cameras, digital signage, and large luggage compartments. These features are intended to assist passengers carrying heavy baggage and to maintain security during transit.

This deployment is part of the PPA’s efforts to improve port operations and passenger experience. The addition of these units provides a standardized transport link between the terminal and the ships.
