Kota Kinabalu: The organising committee of the upcoming Sabah Chinese Economic Conference paid a courtesy visit on former chief minister Tan Sri Chong Kah Kiat, Labuan Corporation Chairman Tan Sri Anifah Aman and Kota Kinabalu Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KKCCCI) President Datuk Michael Lui.

The purpose was to invite them to the Sabah Chinese Economic Conference to be held at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on August 23.

Chong and Anifah commended the Event Chairman Datuk Seri Yong Teck Lee, Organising Chairman Datuk Philip Yong and the organising team for holding the significant conference.

Themed “New Starting Point, New Mindset”, the conference is co-organised by Sabah-China Chamber of Commerce (SCCC), Sabah Maritime Silk Route Research and Advancement Society, Malaysia Maritime Silk Route Research Society, SME Sabah, Sabah Association of Tours and Travel Agents (Satta) and the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (Sabah branch).

The conference is a large-scale brainstorming event aimed at repositioning Sabah by determining a new starting point and adopting a new mindset.

Also present were MCCC Sabah branch President Michael Chin, Malaysia Maritime Silk Route Research Society President Prof Datuk Dr Wilson Yong Tung Yung, SME Sabah President Datuk Foo Ngee Kee, SCCC President Datuk Frankie Liew, Yong and Satta President Datuk Seri Winston Liaw.
