PRC distributes 55 wheelchairs in Mandaluyong

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Red Cross distributed 55 wheelchairs to beneficiaries from Metro Manila and Rizal in Mandaluyong City on Monday as part of its Mobility for Dignity 2026 program.

The distribution was held at the PRC Logistics and Multipurpose Center, where beneficiaries and their families gathered for the latest leg of the group’s wheelchair assistance drive.

The PRC said the program, now on its fourth year, aims to support Filipinos with disabilities and people with limited mobility through partnerships with the Rotary Club of Manila 101, Wheelchair Foundation, and Chair the Love.

The Mandaluyong rollout followed earlier Mobility for Dignity distributions in Malabon, Subic, and Laguna, as the humanitarian organization continued to expand the program’s reach across Luzon this April.

“We remain committed to reaching more Filipinos in need and ensuring that assistance like this continues to expand across communities,” PRC Chairman and CEO Richard Gordon said.

PRC Secretary General Dr. Gwen Pang said each wheelchair given helps restore independence, confidence, and a better quality of life for recipients.

The PRC said the wheelchairs are meant not only as assistive devices but also as tools that can help beneficiaries move more freely and take part more actively in their communities.
