
Kota Kinabalu: The year 2023 saw numerous reports of unprecedented crocodile encounters, both in the wild and human settlements, suggesting that members are increasing.
In Tawau on July 19, the remains of a 60-year-old man who went missing in Kg Mas-Mas Nasib Kita were discovered inside a crocodile measuring 14.11 foot long as the search operation entered its fourth day.
In May, a nine-year-old boy sustained injury on his right hand, shoulder and head in trying to ward off a crocodile attack in Kg Batu Putih in Sandakan.
The boy and his friend were leaving after swimming near a neighbour’s house when the incident happened during a high tide around 1pm on the wooden bridge heading to their home.
