KUALA LUMPUR – Calls for Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli to quit politics have intensified after a group of activists and founding members of PKR staged a protest outside the office of his company, Invoke Solutions, in Sungai Besi today.
The gathering, led by political activist Faizan Mohd Nor alongside party founder Ng Lum Yong, saw dozens of participants assemble, holding placards and delivering a firm message urging the former economy minister to fully retire from politics.
Apart from the protest, Faizan also said a memorandum would be submitted to Rafizi, reiterating the demand for his resignation from public life.
In a statement, Faizan alleged that Rafizi had failed in his roles as both a politician and a minister, arguing that he should take responsibility by stepping down in the interest of national stability.
“Enough of disrupting the country in pursuit of your political ambitions, Rafizi. After failing to deliver on the promises outlined in the GE15 manifesto, and subsequently failing as economy minister to advance the nation, you must take responsibility and retire,” he said.
Faizan had previously advised Rafizi to leave politics, claiming that various parties had labelled him a failure and a liability to his own party.
He further claimed that the former PKR deputy president, once known as the “King of Formula”, had failed to deliver on his promises, adding that many Pakatan Harapan supporters felt betrayed by commitments made ahead of the 15th General Election.
Meanwhile, Ng Lum Yong described Rafizi as the “most unsuccessful minister” since his appointment as the economy minister in December 2022, before stepping down in June 2025.
Based on his observation over nearly three years, Ng alleged that Rafizi had failed to implement Pakatan Harapan’s manifesto pledges and had not introduced meaningful economic reforms during his tenure.
He added that various economic “formulas” proposed by Rafizi were never implemented, claiming that the former minister “only knows how to talk”.
Faizan stressed that the group would not stop with today’s protest, adding that further programmes would be organised to push for Rafizi’s political exit, either voluntarily or through the decision of voters in Pandan at the next general election. - April 10, 2026
