THE Ministry of Finance (MOF) has announced a 10-sen reduction in retail prices for unsubsidised petrol and diesel for the week of July 1 to July 8, 2026, in line with the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM) and reflecting softer global crude oil prices.
The Ministry of Finance said RON97 will be priced at RM4.00 per litre, down from RM4.10, while RON95 will fall to RM3.37 per litre from RM3.47. Diesel will be reduced to RM3.97 per litre from RM4.07.
The government said the adjustment reflects easing international oil market conditions amid moderating geopolitical tensions and expectations of improved global supply flows.

However, it cautioned that global oil markets remain exposed to volatility driven by geopolitical risks, freight costs and supply chain uncertainties.
“While fuel supply in the country remains sufficient for now, the MADANI Government urges Malaysians to continue practising prudent fuel consumption,” the ministry said in a statement today.
The revised pricing period has been aligned with the rollout of the BUDI MADANI Diesel (BUDI Diesel) programme, which begins on July 1 and allows eligible Malaysians to purchase subsidised diesel at RM2.10 per litre via MyKad verification at petrol stations nationwide.
Under the existing subsidy framework, RON95 under BUDI95 remains at RM1.99 per litre, while diesel under SKPS and SKDS schemes continues to range between RM2.05 and RM2.15 depending on category. - June 30, 2026
