SHAH ALAM: Dreams, dedication and family support came together this year as 83 students received cash awards totalling RM230,500 through the F&N Chairman’s Award 2025. All recipients are children of Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd employees.
Beyond financial assistance, the awards reflect the Group’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent while building a future-ready talent pool for F&N AgriValley and the wider organisation. In recognition of their achievements, all recipients also received a Certificate of Recognition.
For parents, the moment represents years of encouragement and belief. Muhammad Fauzi Ahmad expressed pride in his son, Muhammad Fahim Zharfan, who has been accepted into the Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) programme at Hochschule Kaiserslautern in Germany.
“I’m very proud of Fahim for achieving his dream of studying engineering in Germany. Supporting my children through their studies has always been important, and I hope his success will inspire his younger siblings to aim high,” he said.
Muhammad Fahim shared his gratitude and determination.
“I felt excited and relieved when I was accepted. I have been learning German for the past two years to prepare for this new environment,” he said.
The same spirit of encouragement was echoed by M. Nagarajan, who spoke of his pride in his daughter Dhanika’s achievement.
“My advice to parents is to stay supportive and patient throughout their child’s academic journey,” he said.
Dhanika said applying to Tunku Abdul Rahman University was both exciting and challenging.
“I chose to study English because I’m passionate about language and communication,” she said.
Siti Nursuhaila Junaidi, who was accepted into a Social Sciences (International Relations) degree programme at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, said the award has strengthened her motivation to build a meaningful future.
“This inspires me to work towards a future where I can contribute positively through international relations,” she said.
Her mother, Masayu Busrah, said initiatives such as the Chairman’s Award reflect the company’s care for employees and their families.
“Moments like these remind me of my own journey at F&N, working with supportive colleagues and seeing initiatives that truly value employees and their families,” she said.
For Lau Cheng Wei, who is pursuing a Bachelor of Agricultural Science (Plantation Management) at Kuala Lumpur University of Science and Technology, the award has strengthened his resolve to contribute to society.
“I’m grateful for this opportunity, and it motivates me to build a meaningful future in agricultural science,” he said.
His father, Lau Lay Cher, who has served with F&N for more than 15 years, echoed that pride.
“I am truly proud of my son’s success. His degree aligns closely with F&N AgriValley, and I believe it will enable him to contribute meaningfully to sustainable plantation practices and the future of our agri-operations,” he said.
