
PRIME MINISTER Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim commenced a working visit to Pahang on Thursday with a State Development Briefing at the District and Land Office here, marking the first engagement of his day-long itinerary.
Arriving at 10.05am, Anwar was received by the state secretary, Datuk Seri Nazri Abu Bakar, alongside Pahang’s top officials, department heads, and political leaders.
Present also were Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail, Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir, and Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar.
Following the briefing, the Prime Minister, who also holds the portfolio of Finance Minister, attended a gathering with members of the Chinese community at the main hall of SJKC Perting.
He then proceeded to meet with representatives from Maahad schools across the Bentong district at Masjid Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah.
Anwar’s visit further included a session with students from Sekolah Agama Rakyat Kelas Al-Quran and Fardu Ain (Kafa) at Kafa Saidatina Aisyah in Taman Harmoni.
The Prime Minister concluded his itinerary with a visit to the Narcotics Addiction Rehabilitation Centre (Puspen) in Karak, where he engaged with staff and residents on rehabilitation initiatives.
The one-day working visit underscores the government’s focus on state development, community engagement, education, and social rehabilitation in Pahang, highlighting Anwar’s multi-faceted approach to governance and outreach. - January 22, 2026
