Proton eMas currently has 58 dealerships, 45 service centres and 10 Body & Paint centres nationwide.
Proton New Energy Technology (Pro-Net) has certified its first group of 37 Proton eMas EV technicians, representing 25 authorised dealerships across Malaysia.
The technicians achieved Level 2 certification under the eMas Technician Certification Programme, which was developed in collaboration with TVETMARA to strengthen technical expertise across Proton eMas’ growing aftersales network.
To qualify, participants completed seven training modules covering key EV competencies, including high-voltage system training, before undergoing technical assessments to verify their knowledge and practical capabilities.
The certification programme was independently verified by TVETMARA Masjid Tanah to ensure the technicians met the required competency standards.
Pro-Net plans to conduct the certification programme annually, with pathways for Level 2, Level 3 and Level 4 technicians as it develops more advanced EV expertise within its service network.
The programme comes as the number of Proton eMas vehicles on Malaysian roads has grown beyond 30,000 units as of July 2026.
Proton eMas currently has 58 dealerships, 45 service centres and 10 Body & Paint centres nationwide, increasing the need for technicians trained to safely work on high-voltage EV systems.
Pro-Net is also expanding local EV production capabilities at the Proton EV Plant in Automotive High Tech Valley, Tanjong Malim, which currently employs 391 people.
