- An investigation into a £5 million undeclared donation to Reform UK leader Nigel Farage from cryptocurrency billionaire Christopher Harborne has been reopened following his re-election as an MP.
- Mr Farage comfortably won the Clacton by-election with 22,232 votes, while his closest challenger, Count Binface, received 9,455 votes.
- The newly elected MP failed to attend the election count after claiming Essex Police advised him of a credible threat against his safety.
- Essex Police contradicted those claims, saying that robust security was in place and that no candidates were advised not to attend.
- A major speech scheduled to be delivered by Mr Farage in Clacton on Friday morning was subsequently cancelled by Reform UK.
