KOTA BELUD: Police are investigating the death of a 23-year-old local man who was found in a room at an unnumbered house here on Monday.
Kota Belud District Police Chief Supt Khairul Shah Peri said police received a report on the incident at about 4.20pm, and the man was pronounced dead by a Health Ministry medical officer from Kota Belud Hospital.
He said the body was taken to the hospital’s Forensic Unit for a post-mortem, while preliminary investigations found no indication of foul play.
“Investigations are ongoing and, at this stage, the case has been classified as sudden death (SDR),” he said in a statement on Monday night, adding that the public should refrain from speculation that could affect investigations.
