'The Wisdom for Creating Happiness and Peace" is a common study resource for Soka Gakkai members around the world compiled from the works of Honorary SGI President, the late legendary Daisaku IKeda. The theme of peace, contains precious guidelines on topics such as living of life of absolute happiness, helping ourselves and others become happy, facing illness, and attaining joy in both life and death. More than ever, during the Middle East War, people all over the world are in search of the answers to what happiness is and how to cultivate as well as to foster peaceful coexistence & collaboration. Aptly chairing the Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) at the Culture Center in Cheras, Selangor, President Johnny Ng, said “Peaceful coexistence refers to the ability of diverse groups, cultures, and nations to live together harmoniously while respecting each other's differences. It promotes mutual understanding, tolerance, and collaboration among individuals. It aims to reduce conflict and foster a stable environment conducive to mutual growth and cooperation.”
This SGM Roundtable was held in conjunction with the visit of Professor Naqi Azam, Senior Advisor to Vice Chancellor DHA Suffa University Pakistan, to Malaysia. It was attended by SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai, senior officials of SGM including its Youth Division key leaders. Whereas Professor Naqi was accompanied by Professor Dr. Haji Zulkifly Baharom, CEO of Sejahtera Leadership Initiative (SLI) & Global Sejahtera, and Hajah Zarina Ishak.
Professor Naqi shared updates about the Middle East, “As of mid-April 2026, the US has implemented a naval blockade of Iranian ports and the Straits of Hormuz, halting trade and prompting Iranian threats to disrupt regional shipping. Amid high tension and raising oil prices, Pakistan is mediating potential new US-Iran peace talks while Israel continues heavy strikes on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Pakistan's military chief Marshall Asim Munir is in Tehran to help advance US-Iran talks, as President Trump hints the war is close to over, despite failed previous negotiations.” Our roundtable prayed for fast settlement.
