KUCHING: Sarawak Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Permanent Secretary Dato Hii Chang Kee said the ministry had always been giving priority in promoting the state’s community, place, culture and environment.

“We want to ensure tourism benefits the local community. In doing so, all our culture, arts and heritage are being preserved while promoting them,” he said when launching ‘Serumpun: Crafts Across Borders’ exhibition at Borneo Cultures Museum (BCM) in Kuching representing Minister of Tourism Datuk Hj Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah.

Hii commended the efforts by Borneo Laboratory led by its Creative Director Wendy Teo in projecting the crafts work done not only from Sarawak, also from Sabah and Kalimantan (Indonesia).
