Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah State Farmers Organisation (PPNS) hailed the State Government’s decision to revive the Sabah Paddy Board (LPS).

Its Chairman Datuk Mohd Nazri Abdullah said the proposal would benefit the people and state.

The Board was scrapped due to rampant corruption, among others, during the Berjaya administration.

“We are quite confident that LPS can help Sabah achieve rice self-sufficiency of 60pc by 2030 as projected by the State Government compared to only 22pc now.

Deputy Chief Minister I and State Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey G. Kitingan officiated the closing of the HPPNS 2023 celebration.
