TAWAU: Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Ruslan Muharam, will propose to the Government to construct a special building for persons with disabilities (OKU), particularly the visually impaired.
He said the building could serve as an administrative centre for the disabled to develop their potential in various fields, especially education and Al-Quran study, among others.
Ruslan said it was important to have such buildings in Sabah as many of the disabled are, in fact, talented.
“Many successes were achieved by the visually impaired in this State. For example last year a visually impaired individual represented us in the Qari (Al-Quran Recitation competition).”
