Joe Biden was met with shouts of “free Palestine” by a small crowd of protesters waiting for the president while he was away for Thanksgiving break.
He and his wife Jill were leaving a hotel in Nantucket, Massachusetts, on their way to lunch on Friday 24 November when the incident happened.
Crowds had lined the street to see Mr Biden when a small number started shouting at him.
Earlier, the president delivered remarks on the Israel-Hamas hostage deal in a news conference, where he praised US diplomacy as an important part of the release of 24 hostages held by Hamas fighters.
