PROTON eMas has crossed the 30,000-unit mark in Malaysia, recording 30,293 domestic xEV registrations as of 31 July 2026. The milestone comes 20 months after the Proton eMas 7 was launched in December 2024. Including exports, Proton eMas has registered 31,504 units in total, with 1,211 vehicles delivered to overseas markets.
Leading the charge is the Proton eMas 5, which has recorded 13,279 deliveries and remains the best-selling EV model in Malaysia, according to Pro-Net. The eMas 7 follows with 12,068 units, making it the country’s best-selling C-segment electric SUV, while the recently introduced eMas 7 PHEV has accumulated 4,946 deliveries to become Malaysia’s best-selling plug-in hybrid model.
Together, the three models account for all 30,293 domestic Proton eMas registrations. The company had already surpassed 20,000 registrations in 2026 alone during the first half of the year, exceeding its entire 2025 sales volume. Proton eMas is also beginning to expand overseas. Of the 1,211 vehicles exported so far, 130 are eMas 5 units.
The growing sales volume has been accompanied by an expansion of Proton eMas’ local network, which now consists of 58 dealerships, 45 service centres and 10 Body & Paint centres nationwide.
Its integrated charging map currently lists more than 4,700 charging points covering over 90% of Malaysia, including more than 1,500 charging points across over 600 condominiums.
All three Proton eMas models are now locally assembled following the recent start of CKD production for the eMas 7 PHEV. The PHEV currently uses 30% local content, with Proton planning to progressively increase localisation.
Proton has also invested another RM 37 million into its dedicated EV manufacturing facility, raising annual production capacity from 20,000 to 42,000 units to support both domestic and export demand.
