A British traveller is going viral across social media for his ‘act’ during a trek in Uttarakhand. Sharing a video of himself, the man can be seen picking up plastic bottles, food wrappers, cans and other litter scattered across the Kasar Devi trail.
In no time the video gained traction online, sparking conversations about littering, tourism, and civic responsibility.
A user wrote, “Proud of him, disgusted by our own. Why does it take a foreigner to teach us basic civic sense?" Another reacted, “He is treating our forests with more respect than many of the people who visit them."
“Every hill station and tourist spot has the same issue. People enjoy nature but don’t want to take responsibility for keeping it clean," another person observed.
A fourth added, “This man deserves appreciation, but the real goal should be ensuring such cleanup efforts are not needed in the first place."
“Let’s stop feeling ashamed and start carrying our waste back home. Small actions can make a huge difference," read one comment that resonated with many viewers.
“Instead of feeling embarrassed, we should learn from this example," one user wrote.
