Free financial education platform builds on more than RM179.5 million invested in corporate responsibility and financial inclusion initiatives between 2014 and 2025.
Prudential Malaysia[1] is reinforcing its long-standing commitment to building financial resilience in Malaysia with the launch of Levela, a free financial education platform developed by Prudence Foundation, its community investment and philanthropic arm.
Between 2014 and 2025, Prudential Assurance Malaysia Berhad (PAMB), Prudential BSN Takaful (PruBSN) and Eastspring Investments Malaysia (EIMY) collectively invested and mobilised[2] more than RM179.5 million in corporate responsibility and financial inclusion initiatives, spanning financial education, protection for underserved communities and programmes to strengthen financial security. The launch of Levela, officiated by Deputy Finance Minister YB Tuan Liew Chin Tong, builds on this long-standing commitment to advancing financial literacy and inclusion in Malaysia.

Young Malaysians today face increasingly complex financial decisions, from managing their first income and navigating digital payments to understanding credit and debt obligations, evaluating Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) offers, protecting themselves against online scams and planning for their financial futures.

“When we talk about building a resilient Malaysian economy, we must talk about building financially resilient Malaysians. Financial resilience is not built by policy alone. It is built by individuals, decision by decision, over time. How we save, borrow, protect ourselves and invest all shape our ability to withstand unexpected setbacks and make choices today that give us more choices tomorrow,” said Deputy Minister of Finance YB Tuan Liew Chin Tong.
“Financial education cannot stop at teaching concepts. It has to help people turn knowledge into habits. Levela builds on Prudential Malaysia and Prudence Foundation’s longstanding commitment to financial inclusion by providing young adults with free, practical financial learning, from budgeting and saving to credit, protection and fraud awareness. Its success will not be measured simply by how many people use it, but by what they do differently because of it.”

Designed primarily for university students, young professionals and others taking their first steps towards financial independence, Levela aims to build financial confidence, one decision at a time.
The free financial education platform is accessible via a website and mobile app in six languages, with Shariah-compliant content available in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Through interactive, bite-sized lessons, users can develop practical money management skills. The platform's offline access also extends its reach to low-income and underserved communities.
Developed with research support from the Centre for Financial Inclusion at Accion[3], Levela covers six key areas of personal finance:
- Budgeting and cash flow management: Tracking income and spending.
- Savings and emergency funds: Setting aside money for future goals and unexpected expenses.
- Credit and debt management: Borrowing responsibly and managing financial obligations.
- Risk management and insurance/Takaful: Understanding how to protect against unexpected financial events.
- Goal setting and financial planning: Planning for short- and long-term financial goals.
- Fraud prevention and digital security: Recognising scams and safeguarding personal information.
“Financial education must go beyond teaching people how to manage money and empower them to make informed financial decisions,” said Nicole Ngeow, Executive Director of Prudence Foundation.
“With Levela, we're giving young adults the confidence to make informed choices about spending, saving, borrowing and protecting themselves against risk.”
"By making financial education accessible, practical and relevant to their lives, we hope to help a new generation build healthier money habits and take greater ownership of their financial futures." said Nicole.
Levela builds on Prudence Foundation’s flagship Cha-Ching programme, which introduces primary school children to foundational financial concepts and money management skills.
Since its inception in 2016, the award-winning Cha-Ching programme has reached more than 4.8 million students cumulatively across Asia and Africa, including an additional one million students in 2025 alone.
Prudence Foundation’s broader community investment efforts complement these financial education initiatives. In 2025, Prudential invested a total of US$16.1 million in community programmes through Prudence Foundation and other community programmes led by its local markets, up from US$12.5 million in 2024.
The launch of Levela builds on the continued efforts of PAMB, PruBSN, EIMY and Prudence Foundation to advance financial education, extend financial protection and strengthen community resilience in Malaysia.
Building financial capability across generations

Through the combined efforts of PAMB, PruBSN, EIMY and Prudence Foundation, Prudential Malaysia supports Malaysians at different stages of their financial lives—from introducing children to money management and extending protection to underserved households to helping young adults prepare for greater financial independence.
The launch of Levela builds on these existing efforts by expanding Prudential's financial education offerings, making financial learning more accessible and helping more young Malaysians translate knowledge into everyday financial decisions.
