PSD: WFH policy for civil servants to be implemented during ASEAN Summit

THE work from home (WFH) policy for civil servants will continue to be implemented flexibly in conjunction with the ASEAN Summit scheduled to take place at the end of this month.

The Public Service Department (JPA) in a statement said the policy is provided for through the Human Resources Services Circular (MyPPSM), Clause SR.4.1.2,and aims to balance agency needs with the well-being of employees, including work-life harmony.

“In line with this approach, department heads are authorised to consider WFH applications for officers who may be affected by traffic congestion in conjunction with the ASEAN Summit,” the PSD said.

The PSD said the move is among the government’s initiatives in prioritising resilient and caring governance, in line with Madani’s core values such as well-being, courtesy and efficiency in delivering public services.

“Eligible civil servants are advised to contact their respective heads of departments for appropriate consideration.

“The implementation of this policy shall be guided by the procedures and conditions outlined in MyPPSM,” the statement added.

The 46th ASEAN Summit is scheduled to take place on May 26 and 27, 2025 in Kuala Lumpur.

The conference will bring together leaders from all 10 ASEAN member states to discuss regional issues, foster economic cooperation, and champion the principles of inclusivity and sustainability. – May 7, 2025
