The Parisien club were expected to give the role to French star Kylian Mbappe.
However, a report in RMC Sport states that Mbappe did not have the backing of the squad.
He finished fourth in their rankings for the next captain, with Marquinhos retaining his role.
Danilo Pereira was second in the voting, which is likely to make him the club's vice-captain.
Mbappe, who still has an uncertain future, is expected to sign a contract extension at PSG.
