Paris Saint-Germain 5-4 Bayern Munich

74 mins

The set-piece makes it all the way to the back post and it comes off Hakimi and goes out of play.

Another corner reaches the back post but Safonov palms it away it after Tah did well to keep it in play.

Paris Saint-Germain 5-4 Bayern Munich

21:36 , Chris Wilson

73 mins

The visitors are in the ascendancy at the moment as they look for a potentially vital equaliser.

Diaz threads it wide to Olise and the Frenchman wins a corner off Ruiz.

Paris Saint-Germain 5-4 Bayern Munich

71 mins

That goal from Diaz is the 100th between himself, Olise and Kane. What a season for that trio!

Can any of them drag Bayern back level this evening?

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 5-4 Bayern Munich (Diaz, 68')

21:33 , Chris Wilson

68 mins

GOAL! Luis Diaz has given Bayern life!

Kane clips a through ball into the path of the Colombian and he brings it down superbly before selling Marquinhos with the dummy and rifling an effort past Safonov from close range!

It needs a VAR check as it’s ruled out initially but it’s given in the end!

Paris Saint-Germain 5-3 Bayern Munich

21:30 , Chris Wilson

67 mins

It’s not over yet!

Musiala does brilliantly by the byline to escape a challenge and his cutback almost finds Kane before a shot is deflected away.

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 5-3 Bayern Munich (Upamecano, 65')

21:28 , Chris Wilson

65 mins

GOAL! It is indeed a dangerous free-kick!

Kimmich delivers a teasing ball in and Upamecano gets the slightest of touches to it to divert a header away from Safonov and into the corner!

A lifeline for Bayern.

Paris Saint-Germain 5-2 Bayern Munich

21:27 , Chris Wilson

64 mins

A sub for PSG now as Fabian Ruiz comes on for Zaire-Emery.

Bayern have a free-kick in a dangerous area, around 30 yards out.

Paris Saint-Germain 5-2 Bayern Munich

61 mins

Well then, what can Bayern conjure up in response to those goals? It’s in danger of getting away from them now.

The visitors have a foray into the PSG box but they can’t make a clear opening.

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 5-2 Bayern Munich (Dembele, 59')

21:22 , Chris Wilson

59 mins

GOAL! Oh my word! PSG have a fifth!

It’ll be checked for offside but it’s another great finish. Doue leads the counter and it’s a 2-v-3 in favour of Bayern, but the Frenchman slides it across to Dembele and he does the rest, wrong-footing Neuer with a clever finish as he drags a low shot in at the near post!

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 4-2 Bayern Munich (Kvaratskhelia, 56')

21:20 , Chris Wilson

56 mins

GOAL! PSG have another one!

It’s another great finish from Kvaratskhelia as well.

The hosts work it wide on the right and Hakimi is sent free in the box. He drives clear and drives a cutback towards Dembele, but he produces another great dummy to allow the ball to roll to his Georgian teammate, who has the composure to roll it past Neuer for four!

Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Bayern Munich

53 mins

The first opening of the half for Bayern as Diaz clips a clever diagonal ball across to an unmarked Stanisic.

All he has to do is square it across the six-yard box for Kane to tap in but he fluffs his lines!

Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Bayern Munich

21:14 , Chris Wilson

50 mins

Diaz skips past a challenge and is very close to getting the shot away but he’s closed down.

At the other end, Kvaratskhelia gets away down the right but he kicks Upamecano as he goes for the shot before going down, and VAR wave away the penalty shout.

Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Bayern Munich

PSG are knocking it around confidently at the beginning of the second half.

Upamecano does well to lead a counter but he’s too isolated and can’t find a teammate with his pass.

KICK-OFF! Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Bayern Munich

21:07 , Chris Wilson

We’re back underway at the Parc des Princes!

Bayern have brought on Konrad Laimer at left-back in place of Alphonso Davies.

HALF-TIME! Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Bayern Munich

21:05 , Chris Wilson

It’s been one of the best halves you’ll see all season, so hopefully there’s more of the same to come in Paris.

The hosts have a slender lead after a very fortunate penalty, but there’s been so much quality on show from both sides in attack.

Kane, Olise and the PSG front three have provided so much quality in the final third so far, and you feel like whoever wins this tie will be heavy favourites for the final after a display like this.

We’ll have all the action from the second half coming up.

HALF-TIME! Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Bayern Munich

20:54 , Chris Wilson

The referee brings the first half to an end and it’s been absolutely breathtaking at the Parc des Princes.

PSG have the lead after an enthralling first half, though Bayern will prbably feel aggrieved to not be heading in level!

A controversial penalty decision may well end up being the main talking point too, as it was a ridiculous decision in the end.

All to play for in the second half in Paris!

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 3-2 Bayern Munich (Dembele, 45 +5')

20:51 , Chris Wilson

45 +5 mins

GOAL! PSG take a lead at the break!

Dembele steps up and rifles an absolutely brilliant penalty past Neuer! He dived the right way but it had so much power, and was so well-placed into the corner, that the ‘keeper had no chance!

IT’S GIVEN! PSG have a penalty in the final kick of the half!

Paris Saint-Germain 2-2 Bayern Munich

This would be exceptionally harsh! It comes off Davies’ leg and then on up to his hand, though admittedly the hand was a little out.

45 +2 mins

Davies has his hand out but it would be a harsh one as it’s close to his body when it stops the ball...

But the referee is heading to the monitor!

Paris Saint-Germain 2-2 Bayern Munich

20:48 , Chris Wilson

45 mins

One last flurry from PSG as we enter just one minute of added time.

Zaire-Emery slips it through to Hakimi on the wing and the defender’s cross is put behind for a corner.

It’s eventually worked to Kvaratskhelia but his shot is too close to Safonov.

But hang on a second...we have a check for a penalty as Davies stops a cross with his hand...

Paris Saint-Germain 2-2 Bayern Munich

20:46 , Chris Wilson

44 mins

What a finish from Olise. That is now 99 goals for the Bayern trio of Diaz, Kane and Olise this term.

It looks like it’ll be enough to take them into half-time level at the Parc des Princes.

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 2-2 Bayern Munich (Olise, 41')

20:44 , Chris Wilson

41 mins

GOAL! Olise has levelled it and what a finish this is!

The Frenchman picks the ball up just outside the ‘D’ and shimmies past a couple of challenges.

He’s managed to wrong-foot Safonov and he then rifles a brilliant effort past the PSG ‘keeper from just inside the area!

Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Bayern Munich

20:41 , Chris Wilson

39 mins

This game is so end-to-end at the moment that it’s impossible to predict who’ll score next.

Stanisic is now released down the right and he has the pace to evade the first challenge but his touch gets away from him in the box.

Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Bayern Munich

20:39 , Chris Wilson

37 mins

CLOSE! ANOTHER big chance for PSG.

This one comes from another slick counter, with the hosts moving the ball quickly before it’s slid into the path of Doue.

The Frenchman has escaped the defenders but the angle is tight, and he fizzes a low effort past the far post.

Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Bayern Munich

20:38 , Chris Wilson

35 mins

CHANCE! Another chance for Dembele as he loses his marker in the centre circle before being sent clear again!

He’s in a foot race with Upamecano and makes the wrong decision, trying to cut back before his compatriot blocks the shot.

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Bayern Munich (Neves, 33')

33 mins

GOAL! PSG have taken the lead!

It’s perhaps a surprise source too, as Neves escapes his marker at the near post to nod Dembele’s cross into the far corner!

Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Bayern Munich

20:35 , Chris Wilson

31 mins

Two moments of superb skill from Olise and Doue.

First, the Bayern man beats Mendes and Marquinhos down the right before seeing his cross in deflected onto a defender and off the post.

At the other end, Doue skips past a couple of challenges in the box and tries to fire into the near corner, but sees his shot deflected behind.

Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Bayern Munich

29 mins

The hosts are in the ascendancy right now and they want a penalty as Dembele sees his shot blocked, but it was never a handball.

Moments later Mendes fires over from distance.

Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Bayern Munich

27 mins

PSG have their tails up now, with Doue seeing a speculative effort blocked from outside the box.

Hakimi tries to flash a ball across to the near post but Dembele hadn’t made the run.

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 1-1 Bayern Munich (Kvaratskhelia, 24')

20:27 , Chris Wilson

24 mins

GOAL! Dembele will be relieved!

A superb goal from Kvaratskhelia to level it for PSG.

The Georgian picks up the ball on the right and drives into the box, putting in a quick step-over before cutting outside the defender and rifling a low effort across Neuer and into the side-netting at the far post!

A brilliant finish.

Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 Bayern Munich

20:25 , Chris Wilson

23 mins

CHANCE! Oh my word what a chance this is for Dembele!

The Ballon d’Or holder is sent clean through but he has too much time to think about it! He opens his body up trying to find the far corner but just scuffs it wide of the far post!

Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 Bayern Munich

20:22 , Chris Wilson

20 mins

CLOSE! What a chance this was for Olise!

It’s another beautifully worked move from Bayern, with a lovely combination near the edge of the area before Kane slides a diagonal through ball into the path of Olise.

The angle is a little against the Frenchman as he tries to slide it past Safonov, and the ‘keeper and his defenders do enough to take the power off the shot before it’s cleared from the goalmouth.

GOAL! Paris Saint-Germain 0-1 Bayern Munich (Kane, 17')

20:20 , Chris Wilson

17 mins

GOAL! Kane steps up and sweeps it confidently past Safonov! A slow run-up, a slight delay and he sends the ‘keeper the wrong way while putting it in the bottom corner.

20:18 , Chris Wilson

16 mins

PENALTY TO BAYERN! The visitors counter and straight away win a penalty!

It comes to Olise and his first touch is a brilliant one into the path of Diaz. He takes a touch away from Pacho as he slides in and the defenders drags him down to concede a spot-kick!

Paris Saint-Germain 0-0 Bayern Munich

20:17 , Chris Wilson

15 mins

The first real opening for PSG as Dembele dummies a pass brilliantly to allow Vitinha to spread it wide to Kvaratskhelia.

The Georgian delivers the cross towards Dembele but Davies there to head clear.

Paris Saint-Germain 0-0 Bayern Munich

12 mins

The first bit of ‘controversy’ there as Dembele drives into the box and is taken down by Pavlovic, but the referee waves away the calls for a penalty.

At the other end, Marquinhos goes in early and catches Diaz to prevent the counter, and PSG concede a corner from the free-kick.

The PSG captain is the first player in the book too.

Neither team has managed to fashion a clear-cut chance but the attacking intent is clearly there from both.

They’re both cancelling each other out at the moment, with neither looking to press too high this early on.

A reminder that Bayern boss Vincent Kompany is serving a touchline ban this evening, so we won’t be hearing from the Bayern boss ahead of kick-off.

Rooney on Kane

19:41 , Chris Wilson

Former Man Utd striker Wayne Rooney is speaking on Amazon Prime about Kane, and he has this to say on the England captain:

“There's not a better player in football at the minute and I think he's changed his game, he can take the ball to feet and bring others into play, he's just a natural born goalscorer.

“To go to Bayern and have the impact he's had, is such a credit to him. He's a natural leader in there and takes the younger players with him.

“I think this is the year for him. Hopefully, off this season, he can then do well for England. If he'd left Tottenham earlier, he'd be a Ballon d'Or winner by now,” he added.

Kane's stats

19:37 , Chris Wilson

Kane’s 12 Champions League goals make up part of a superb season so far, with the England captain having scored 53 goals in 45 games for Bayern Munich.

He has 33 in the Bundesliga and seven in the German Cup as Bayern hunt another treble and look to repeat the feat of 2019/2020.

Enrique: 'Everyone wants to be there'

19:32 , Chris Wilson

“Every coach wants to approach the run-in in the best possible conditions,” explains PSG boss Luis Enrique ahead of kick-off.

“Right now, we are in the semi-finals and all the players are available, apart from Quentin Ndjantou.

"The magic of the Champions League gives special energy to the players. Everyone wants to be there and makes the most of it,” added the Spaniard.

Match stats

19:27 , Chris Wilson

Harry Kane has already scored the most goals by an English player in any European Cup campaign, with 12. The Englishman has scored in each of his last four knockout round games.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been directly involved in 13 goals in the Champions League this season (8 goals and 5 assists), just one shy of the most by a PSG player in a single edition, which was achieved by Ousmane Dembélé in 2024/25 (14, with 8 goals and 6 assists).

The atmosphere is building perfectly

19:23 , Mike Jones

The PSG ultras are making a lot of noise as the teams head onto the pitch at the Parc de Princes ahead of kick off.

Bayern’s players are loudly booed as they begin their warm ups with Harry Kane in particular getting plenty of stick coming his way.

Kane should be crucial for Bayern’s chances of winning this match tonight.

Famous meetings: PSG 0-1 Bayern, Champions League final 2020

19:17 , Chris Wilson

Though these sides have met 15 times in this competition previously, no single game between them was more important than the final they contested in August 2020.

The Covid-19 pandemic meant this match was played behind closed doors at the Estadio da Luz in Lisbon, with PSG facing their first European Cup final and Bayern contending their 11th.

A raft of stars turned out for both sides, with PSG led by Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Angel di Maria and Bayern boasting the likes of Robert Lewandowski, David Alaba and Thomas Muller in their ranks. Hansi Flick managed Bayern, with compatriot Thomas Tuchel in charge of PSG.

As it turned out, the game was not an instant classic for the neutrals, though Neymar, Lewandowski and Di Maria all missed chances in the first half.

In the end, the game was decided by a goal in the 59th minute from former PSG player Kingsley Coman, who headed past Keylor Navas to secure a sixth European Cup for Bayern on their way to a treble that season.

The contrast at the heart of the Champions League semi-finals – and what it says about football’s future

19:10 , Miguel Delaney

At this stage of the season, when the Champions League really reaches that gloriously charged air, even staff meetings can have an edge about getting it right.

While some coaches at both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are naturally concerned with working out structures to stop opposition attackers, for example, others are more keen to shift the emphasis. Make them stop us.

In other words, to go for it. To let Jamal Musiala rampage at PSG and pin them back, as Kvicha Kvaratshkelia tries to do the same to Manuel Neuer’s defence. The potential effects could be electric football, and a tie to match any of those from recent Champions League history and the 2015-19 “era of comebacks”. They would also be a natural follow-on from the free-flowing play we saw between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in the quarter-final, perhaps suggesting new trends for the competition.

PSG have no reported injury concerns, but Luis Enrique was able to rest several of his starters for the 3-0 win at Angers on Saturday. Osmane Dembele, Khivha Kvaratskheila, Desire Doue, Joao Vitinha and Marquinhos were rested completely and are all set to return.

Bayern will be without Serge Gnabry for the rest of the season and Lennart Karl is a doubt. Vincent Kompany also made several changes on Saturday but turned to the likes of Harry Kane, Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala when the second-string were 3-0 down at half-time to Mainz. Kompany on Kane

18:26 , Chris Wilson

“People in England saw him as a goalscorer during his time playing there. His finishing and leadership were never underestimated,” said Vincent Kompany yesterday when asked about Harry Kane.

“We’ve seen other qualities too, such as his footballing intelligence. We can appreciate that now – it was perhaps somewhat underestimated in England. He’s like a fine wine that improves with age. I also enjoy that aspect of his,” added the Bayern boss.

Will Kane be key this evening in Paris?

Head-to-head

18:19 , Chris Wilson

These two sides have faced off 15 times in the Champions League, and nine times across the last nine campaigns.

Of these matches, PSG have won six and Bayern have won nine, including the 2020 final.

The Germans have won each of their last five games against PSG, including once earlier this season with a 2-1 victory in November.

What the managers have said

18:13 , Chris Wilson

Kompany did speak in his pre-match press conference despite being suspended for tonight, and here’s what he had to say:

“Danksy has plenty of experience, was on the touchline for a while in England. I've got 100% confidence in the staff and everyone else,” he explained on his assistant taking over.

“I can turn the question around: What do they do with our attackers? It goes both ways. Both teams have an incredible amount of creativity, also in terms of positioning and finding solutions. It’s about details, intensity, and energy. We’re playing each other four times now. We have experience against them, but so does the opponent.” Kompany said when asked about the dangers presented by PSG’s attack.

On Luis Enrique, he added: “He’s doing an incredible job. A year and a half ago, when we beat Paris, a swarm of journalists was criticising Luis Enrique. But I felt back then what kind of team they had, and that something was happening here.

“They had a young team, but they sent a clear message. I wasn’t surprised that they won the Champions League. You can see that there’s a real team spirit in Luis Enrique’s teams,” he said.

Kompany suspended from touchline for PSG clash

18:07 , Chris Wilson

A reminder that Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany is suspended from his usual touchline position this evening after being yellow carded in the second leg against Real Madrid.

The Belgian picked up his third yellow card in Bayern's 12th Champions League game, and therefore will now serve a one-match touchline ban that also means he cannot enter the Bayern locker room this evening.

Kompany’s assistant Aaron Danks – who briefly served as caretaker boss for Villa in 2022 – will take over this evening at the Parc des Princes.

 (Reuters)

What the managers have said

18:01 , Chris Wilson

PSG boss Luis Enrique said in his pre-match press conference that his side and Bayern “are the two best teams in Europe, even if Arsenal have also had a great season”.

“In terms of consistency, maybe Bayern are a little bit above us. But we have shown that no team is better than us,” he explained.

“It is a real pleasure and it is deserved. You need to be ambitious to get to this stage and I think we are. We still want to go that bit further,” added the Spaniard.

Match stats

These two sides are the joint-top scorers in the competition this season with 38 goals apiece.

PSG have scored two or more goals in each of their last eight knockout stage games in the competition, which is the joint-longest run in history alongside Barcelona in 2015-2016.

Premier League has clinched fifth Champions League spot - but could get another

17:48 , Chris Wilson

The Premier League could boast six clubs in the Champions League for a second season running if all the right pieces fall into place.

The extra fifth place was sealed after Arsenal reached the Champions League quarter-finals. It is the second consecutive year that the Premier League has earned an additional spot, with the English top flight at the top of the European Performance Standings (EPS).

Last term saw an unprecedented six English clubs qualify for the Champions League; five by their league position, and with Tottenham earning their place in the league phase after winning the Europa League.

The same could happen again this term, with the Premier League appearing as one of the more prominent beneficiaries to the competition’s expansion to 36 teams that came into effect at the beginning of 2024/25.

Here’s what needs to happen:

Bayern Munich plot new Harry Kane contract talks to secure star striker

17:36 , Chris Wilson

Bayern Munich are poised to initiate contract negotiations with star striker Harry Kane at the end of the season, according to supervisory board member Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.

The England captain, who arrived from Tottenham in a £100m deal in 2023, has been a revelation for the German giants, netting 138 goals in 141 appearances.

With just one year remaining on his current deal by summer, the 32-year-old has consistently expressed his contentment in Munich, where his family is understood to be well-settled.

The stark reality facing Liverpool after PSG cause Champions League deja vu

17:29 , Richard Jolly

And this is the story of how holders PSG overcame Liverpool once more to book their place in the final four...

Déjà vu all over again for Liverpool, eliminated by the French champions for a second successive season, but this time without the drama of penalties or the sense of what might have been. A Paris rematch brought the same scoreline as last week, another 2-0 win. Ousmane Dembele, who got an Anfield winner last season, added a brace. Compared to last year, the margin of victory was bigger as Paris Saint-Germain secured a semi-final against Real Madrid or, more probably, Bayern Munich. This trophy may remain in their grasp for another year.

Liverpool can reflect on the damage done in Paris last week though the broader conclusion might be that, after £450m of spending, they have slipped further away from the European elite. They finished third in the league phase this year but they have rarely looked plausible winners of the competition. PSG, 11th in a large league table, are in the last four, their blend of defiant defending, electric attacking and midfield finesse looking them a class apart from the English champions.

A reminder of how Bayern got to this stage...

Luis Diaz and Michael Olise fired Bayern Munich past 10-man Real Madrid and into a Champions League semi-final showdown with Paris St Germain in a dramatic conclusion to a pulsating tie.

Less than three minutes after Madrid substitute Eduardo Camavinga had been sent off, Diaz drilled home his side’s third equaliser before Olise struck in stoppage time to clinch a 4-3 win on the night.

The victory extended Bayern’s unbeaten run to 16 games in all competitions and sealed a 6-4 aggregate triumph, a first over the Spanish giants in a two-legged tie since 2012.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich LIVE

Paris Saint-Germain host Bayern Munich in the first leg of a blockbuster Champions League semi-final at the Parc des Princes.

Holders PSG are bidding to return to the Champions League final and have seen off Chelsea and Liverpool in convincing style so far in the knockout stages.

Bayern last won the Champions League by beating PSG in the 2020 final and were inspired by Harry Kane as they knocked out Real Madrid in the quarter-finals. The England captain is aiming to win the biggest trophy of his career, with a second Bundesliga crown already secured.

PSG and Bayern have two of their best attacks in Europe, and this semi-finals offers quite the contrast to what is expected to be a rather more defensive clash between Arsenal and Atletico Madrid on the other side of the draw.
