IPOH: An activist from Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) sustained injuries, including a broken tooth, after being allegedly assaulted by a state government department officer during a protest against land encroachment involving farmers in Kanthan, Chemor yesterday (Oct 24).

It was revealed on Twitter, how farmers and the activists were subjected to violent treatment when they tried to stop Perak Land and Mines (PTG) officers from forcibly evicting them.

PSM activist Chong Yee Shan and other activists persisted in fighting for the cause and stopping the violent forced eviction in spite of her injuries.

This led to the arrest of three PSM activists and one farmer, who were later freed after testifying at the Ipoh IPD.

While a sizable enforcement team has already entered the farmlands to demolish and destroy the crops, farmers and PSM activists have gathered at the Perak Menteri Besar office as of today, October 25, to urge PTG to stop the forced eviction.
