The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has confirmed that its loan repayment exemption for first-class honours graduates remains active and has never been withdrawn.
Exemption Policy Still In Place
PTPTN chairman Datuk Seri Norliza Abdul Rahim explained that the policy applies to borrowers who graduated with a first-class bachelor’s degree from 2019 onwards.
The exemption is available to graduates from recognised institutions of higher learning. Norliza said that the benefit is not limited by economic background, race, or religion.
She also urged the public to avoid politicising education-related issues, highlighting that existing policies are designed to directly support outstanding graduates.
How To Apply For The Exemption
Graduates who meet the eligibility criteria may submit their applications online through the official myPTPTN portal.
PTPTN stated that the process has been designed to be transparent, efficient, and fair to all applicants.
PTPTN’s Commitment To Higher Education
As an agency under the Ministry of Higher Education, PTPTN said it remains committed to looking after student welfare while supporting the nation’s higher education goals. The corporation also emphasised that education should continue to serve as a platform for personal growth and national progress.
