The annual discounts for PTPTN education loan repayments has been renewed, as shared by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the Budget 2024 tabling. This time around, the total discount is lower at a maximum of 15%, and it is targeted towards consistent repayment instead of lump-sum ones.
From tomorrow (14 October) until 31 March 2024, PTPTN borrowers will be able to enjoy the new discounts at the following rates:
- 10% for full lump-sum payment of outstanding loan
- 10% for lump-sum payment of at least 50% of outstanding loan
- 15% for payments in the form of salary deduction or scheduled direct debit
In the previous revised Budget 2023, PTPN discounts were also provided with varying rates from 5% to 20%.
