‘Public engagement over proposed Kita Selangor Rail alignment to continue’

SHAH ALAM, July 14 - The Selangor government will keep engaging with the public and other stakeholders before deciding on the alignment for Kita Selangor Rail, said state executive councillor for investment, trade and mobility Ng Sze Han.

He added that it will continue collecting feedback throughout the planning process, with the proposed alignment open to adjustment.

“The proposed rail alignment already exists, but it is not final. We can still make adjustments based on the different views received,” he told reporters after the Business Linkages and Advancement Programme (BLAST) launch today.

Ng added that engagement sessions would also be conducted should the project involve land acquisition.

The Kita Selangor Rail network aims to improve public transport connectivity, reducing traffic congestion and supporting economic growth across the state.

The project is expected to complement existing rail systems by connecting underserved areas and strengthen links between residential, commercial and industrial hubs, while integrating with current public transport services.

Meanwhile, Ng also said the public has responded positively to the state’s RM30 transport subsidy initiative.

“The response has been very good. We are currently waiting for Rapid On-Demand to come onboard, which is scheduled for August 1,” he added.
