
Kota Kinabalu: Public especially those living near Luyang here are invited to attend and enjoy the upcoming ‘Luyang Chinese New Year Festival 2025’ to be held at Lintas Square, behind Maybank, this Saturday (Feb 15).
Community Development Leader Unit (UPPM) for Luyang Gee Tien Siong said the UPPM Luyang is organising the auspicious celebration for the third time starting at 6.30pm until 10.30pm.
AdvertisementHe said they are holding the celebration this Saturday as this is the time when many people are free to join in the festivity before school starts on Monday, Feb 17.
"This coming Chinese New Year (CNY) celebration in Lintas Square, which is the third time we organise, is open to all regardless of their culture, customs, race and religious beliefs.

He said there will be lion dance performances as well as singing and dancing performances from two kindergarten children, SJKC Shan Tao, Sabah Tshung Tsin Secondary School and few cultural organisations.
AdvertisementHe said they are also continuing the tradition of distributing 1,000 red packets to children and adult attending the event.
Gee said they are also providing only 40 booths with free rental to small and medium-sized traders here to give them the opportunities to sell variety of their goods apart from selling food and drinks.
